First Camp Fire Club founded in Arizona
1920's
Camp Fire obtains abandoned lumber camp (complete with chicken coup) in Prescott from US Forest Service
Camp for girls has its first summer in 1925.
Camp Fire Girls sell candy, doughnuts, and popcorn
1930's
Cabins and dining hall built at Camp Wamatochick with the help of Louis Sands
Horseback riding and riflery added to Camp Wamatochick program
1940's
Acreage in Prescott increased to 80 acres
Electricity comes to camp cabins
1950's
Camelback Kiwanis adds six cabins, lodge and riding stables to camp
Increased occupancy to 200 for resident campers
1960's
"Minowe" the Camp Elf relocated from California to Camp Wamatochick
1970's
Camp Fire expands programs to include boys and girls
Co-educational camping initiated
