The Essence of Camp Fire

Camp Fire Clubs are small group meetings designed to bring together youth and positive adult role models. Leaders can be volunteers from the community or Camp Fire staff that meet for weekly meetings chock-full of fun, beneficial activities. Youth are encouraged to develop and explore their sense of creativity, learn to provide service to the community, all while having fun and making memories with their peers.

The Camp Fire Club program welcomes children of all ages. Clubs are divided by grade level, and activities are organized around the five Camp Fire Trails: Trail to Knowing Me; Trail to Family and Community; Trail to Creativity; Trail to Environment; and Trail to the Future.

Activities may include : outdoor education and field trips, arts and crafts, games, earning beads and emblems, and giving service to the community.

Camp Fire Clubs

Youth Clubs: K-5 youth participate in arts and crafts and games that foster positive interaction with peers and adult role models. Camp Fire staff-run youth clubs currently meet weekly at the Wesley, Chandler, and Glendale community centers.

Teen Clubs: These clubs are designed to provide teens with life skills and tools to succeed that are often overlooked in public schools. Teens are exposed to everything from finance to fine arts while meeting friends and improving social and leadership skills. Teen Clubs currently meet weekly at the Chandler and Weseley community centers

Family Clubs: These clubs are all about the Community. Families meet together in parks and community centers to enjoy a pot luck dinner, play games, and do activities that bring families around the neighborhood together for fun and friendship. Camp Fire staff members and volunteers are on hand to answer questions and inform families of valuable resources available to them. Family Clubs currently meet once a month at Montecito, Cesar Chavez, Longview, Solano, Osborn Middle, Sullivan, Hamilton and Garcia schools.

Traditional Clubs: Traditional Clubs are run by volunteers in the community and provide recreational and social activities for youth and their families.
